Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas this year and are very blessed! We spent Christmas Eve with Eric's family as always. We ate & drank wine and had a great time watching the kids run around, do scavenger hunts & play games. On Christmas morning we woke up to find some great gifts from Santa! Reagan got an American Girl Doll that "looks" like her and a ballerina clothing set for her to wear. Bailey got a tricycle and a Minnie Mouse doll. Eric got a tennis raquet bag that holds 3 raquets. And I got some new items from the St Nicholas Christmas village selection. And of course we all had wonderful things in our stockings! We then opened up our family gifts. Reagan got to choose to either be the first to open a gift or give a gift to someone to open and she chose to give me a gift to open! Such a sweetheart! The big family gift (well I say it's more for Eric) is Band Hero for Xbox. So the kids got to play with that before we got ready to head to Mama & Papa D's to eat lunch & celebrate Christmas there. We had a wonderful lunch that Mama prepared! Then we got busy opening gifts and everyone got wonderful gifts. Then on Saturday we went down to Ganny's to visit with them and exchange gifts there. It was a nice visit with Ganny, Aunt Rachel, Susan & Jon. We missed seeing everyone else.

The girls are having a great time playing with all their new toys! I am all set with some new running stuff to wear during this cold winter!

I just posted some pictures to the web album instead of trying to post them here. So here is the link! Enjoy! I actually still have to add some pictures from Christmas night and then our visit with Ganny!

St Nick Day & family celebration

Well, I'm a little late with posting these since the pictures are from our family celebration on the 5th and then St Nick Day. We had everyone over on Sat the 5th for brunch. The kids had a great time and we ate lots of great food and had wonderful Mimosa's! We were lucky to be able to have the family celebration the day before James left to head back to Korea so he was able to make it.

I only have pictures of Bailey from St Nick Day since Reagan spent the night with Emma. Bailey was a sweet sister and put Reagan's shoes out for St Nick to be able to leave her gift in them.

I have a lot of pics of this crew but this was one of the best ones I got
Thought this picture was cute since it kind of represents each ones personality

What cuties!

Christmas in Albany with the Gilbert Family

We celebrated Christmas with my Dad's side of the family on Saturday at Kristi's house. Anne, Teri & her family were able to come up also, so we had a nice celebration.

I think this was the best one I got of the 4 of them

Bailey was excited to get her own set of Pet Shop toys

Reagan got a Ken doll

Bailey got a Princess lunch box from Kristi and it was filled with lots of other gifts all wrapped up, that kept Bailey busy for a little bit

Reagan's Winter Party

Reagan's Winter Party was Friday afternoon and the kids had a wonderful time. The other room mom planned this whole party, thank goodness! She did a great job with selecting the crafts for the kids to do during the party. The kids had a puzzle to do at one center, then made an ornament at the next, then made a picture with stickers in the "Igloo" and enjoyed snacks at the other center. Then we ended the party with making snowballs out of paper and the class had a big snowball fight! The kids loved that of course and it was fun to watch them during it.

And the snowball fight begins!

What a big mess, but the kids had a great time!

Chicago & Notre Dame/UCONN trip

We had a wonderful trip to Chicago with Colleen & David. We could not have asked for better weather for that time of year up there. It was just great.

We got up around 3 am on Friday to get our 6:30 flight out to Chicago. We actually arrived early and made it through O'Hare without any issues. We took the El and then got a bus to our hotel. We got to our hotel around 9 am and they actually had rooms available and let us check in. That was great, we got an hour to refresh and chill. We then started out on our walk to The Northern Trust building to meet Reese for lunch. It seemed like it was forever, but it was a great walk and we got to see part of the town. We met Reese at The Northern Trust building then headed to Potbelly's for lunch. Marty, another former coworker (actually my former mgr), met us over there; so we got in a good visit. Lunch was great and Eric said that was one of the best cookies he has ever had. Reese got us over to the El station we needed to take to head over to Wrigley's. So we made our way to Wrigley's so we could walk around there and see the stadium. We were amazed at the bleacher seats on top of the buildings that are across from the stadium. We figured it was time to get the vacation from the kids started so we hit the Cubby Bear bar and met a friend of Colleen's. We had some good drinks and laughs there and even saw lots of UCONN fans there. We then moved down to Sluggers Bar where they had batting cages and games upstairs. That was a lot of fun. After that we decided it was time for some good stuffed Chicago pizza. After that yummy dinner (which we ordered way too much of) we then got a few things for the tailgate and headed back to the hotel, on the El. It was an early night due to the early wake up for the flight and the fact we would be waking up early to leave for the game.

Saturday morning we got up and took a taxi over to the rental car place to get our car so we could head over to South Bend for the game. It was an easy ride over to South Bend and the exit dumps you out at the tailgate spot. Colleen's parents arrived not too long after us and were actually able to park right behind our car. We took a shuttle over to the campus to walk around and see some stuff. Since Eric & I didn't really need anything from the bookstore, we left the others and got some food and headed back to the tailgate. By this point it was time for me to put on my Georgia hat. I was going to be that fan. Several UCONN fans noticed the hat and gave their condolences for us losing Uga, which was very nice of them. Colleen & crew met us back over at the tailgate. We had a good time with the crew next to us. We then got on the shuttle and headed over to the game.

*Will post more about the game and what we did on Sunday and captions under the pictures.
