Gakstatters: June 2009

Reagan had her first ballet recital on Saturday and she did great! When we first signed Reagan up for ballet, we were afraid that she wouldn't go out on stage since she is so shy. But all cared about was that she was having & fun and enjoying her classes; the recital is just one day (well 2 if you add in the rehearsals and 3 if you add picture day). She practiced her routine at home and knew it very well. We had pictures done and she loved wearing her costume and having make up put on her. Then dress rehearsal day came and she did really good. She came out on stage with her class and did great with her routine. She saw me watching and waved and was having a good time. We had to go back later that day for the finale rehearsal and thank goodness that was quick.

Finally the big recital day was here! She woke up all excited saying "my recital day is today!" Her class was the third act and they were so adorable and they all did such a good job. Reagan was one of the few that really knew the routine and led the group doing the routine (of course for those of you that really know Reagan, this isn't a surprise, since you know she is a great listener and really pays attention). You would not know that Reagan was shy at all seeing her out there on that stage!

And for the finale, each child from her class and the other classes that were only in one show, came out on stage by themselves! They were supposed to stop in the middle and blow a kiss or something. Reagan paused for maybe a second at the most and barely blew a kiss; but she went across the stage so proud!

We were all so proud of her and she loved it all!
