Happy July 4th!

This year we actually didn't really have any plans for the 4th, which is probably the first year in a very long time. It was kind of nice actually to know that once I got home from finishing the Peachtree Road Race, all I had to do that day, was nothing (well nothing is hard to do with 2 little ones, but you know what I mean).

So I was up right before 5 to meet Krista at 5:30 to head to Marta to go down for the PRR. We spent most of our time before the race in line for the port a potty, which they now put in hand sanitizer! How awesome is that! Then we headed to our corral to meet up with Julie & the others. We got into our corral and found Julie & everyone else then waited for the race to start. Our friend Donna Dravis found us also, which was great since she wasn't running with anyone. The race course was harder at the end this year due to change in the finish because of the drought conditions. I really hope they move the finish back to Piedmont Park next year, it is just so much better all around. I did okay, crashed towards the end but still was at least able to keep up with a run/walk and more running so that is okay; I finished! It was the first year we've ever taken Marta home and that went fine for us but we were in one of the earlier corrals so that gave us an advantage. I like the tshirt and will wear it proudly as I do all my others!

The rest of the day we just pretty much hung out with the girls and didn't do much at all. We did grill steak for a late lunch and then later on made milkshakes & cookies. We would have gone up to the Mall of Georgia to see the fireworks there but Reagan doesn't really like fireworks so that was a big no. She got scared as soon as they started going off around the neighborhood. We let her watch the ones on tv with us for a little bit and she liked that fine. But of course was scared when she went back to bed and could hear them still; then she konked out.

Donna D, Laurie R, me, Julie, Laura & Krista sometime after mile 2 stopping to say hi to Fred & Dorothy; we were all still together at this point & feeling okay
Reagan in her cute July 4th dress
Getting ready to make milkshakes with Daddy
Love this picture! The look on his face says it all! All he wanted her to do was put that last scoop in the blender!
She gave in, she put the last scoop of ice cream in the blender
Bailey making a mess of everything (surprise) Yum, cookies & a milkshake
Bailey had to have some of Daddy's cookie
The girls chillin' on the couch (well Reagan is focused on the show "Super Why" )
