Reagan's big drs appt

So Reagan had her follow up tests done on Monday for her kidney reflux and these tests would tell us if it has cleared up or if she would need surgery to correct it. We had explained somewhat about the tests and she had some sort of idea but still couldn't really prepare her for the catheter portion.

She fought us on getting dressed that morning, which wasn't fun at all. Once we went through that drama we were on our way to Scottish Rites hospital. We had to go the patient registration section and wait with everyone else and once that was done then we headed over to radiology. Our technician was Ingrid and she was really nice and from Germany; she attempted to speak german to Eric. Reagan got her gown and laid down on the table ok (I think Super Why was still on the tv so that helped out some). She fought us on just making her legs like a butterfly so Eric got one leg and another technician got the other. Then came the catheter! And she fought, screamed & cried; but once it was in she finally calmed down. They emptied her bladder then it was time to fill it with some saline water to get some pictures. She got nervous when they moved her under the xray machine but then calmed down and was fine. Eric said the last time 4 of them had to hold her down the whole time! After they filled it the first time, they emptied it again. Then the next time they really filled up her bladder and then poor thing had to really go potty but she did great through it all. Of course it took a little bit to get her to completely empty her bladder but she did wonderful! We could watch the screen to watch her bladder getting full and then how it emptied.

We had some time before our appt with the dr to get the results so we ate lunch at the cafeteria. Reagan of course got a grilled cheese and she ate most of that and a banana and some cheetos & then a cookie! She was hungry!

Then we walked over to the drs office and we got in pretty quick since we had one of the first appts after lunch. And the dr walked in and told us the good news that it was cleared up and we didn't have to do anymore tests or dr visits! Such wonderful news!

Just that little bit we went through really makes you so thankful that you have a healthy child and you realize how blessed you really are!
