Reagan is now a Kindergartner!

On Thursday we went to Open House at Reagan's school to meet her teacher and bring in her supplies. She was so excited, she couldn't wait to meet Mrs Mobley! She loved meeting Mrs Mobley and a few new friends while we were there. She was even more ready for Kindergarten after seeing her classroom and meeting her teacher.

Now the big day is here and it's time to actually go to Kindergarten and ride the big school bus! She had been getting up at 6:45 all last week in preparation for Kindergarten and so far has done okay with it. We know we're going to have some rough mornings but we cherish all the good ones! We of course had the outfit picked out and the hairbows (which of course got changed to hairband) and all ready. She was up without any issues and was ready to eat her breakfast. We didn't even need to set the timer (she eats really slow and can be very slow to get ready so the timer helps with this)! She got dressed and couldn't wait to get out at the bus stop!

Now it's time to head out to the bus stop! She couldn't wait to get over there with Jaime. Bailey had to go over there with us, she had to be with Reagan. When that bus came down the hill the grin on Reagan's face was priceless, she was so thrilled! She gave us a quick glance and hopped on that bus like she had been riding it forever! The bus driver (Miss Wendy) let her & Jaime know that Kindergartner's sit in the front seats so they sat together. And off they went to school!

So I was not going to miss an opportunity to get more pictures of Reagan on her first day of school; plus I wanted to be there and see her go into the school on her first day. So Eric dropped me off at the bus drop off driveway and I was able to get to the school entrance as they were headed in. I kind of just stayed in the background and kind of followed Reagan & Jaime to their class. They almost immediately knew what to do when they got in there. They put their backpack ups and swapped out their nametags and found their seats. Reagan actually met the girl, Camille, that sits opposite her at Open House. She knows the little boy that sits behind her at the other table so she might end up talking to him too much, we'll see. Riley is just a few seats down from her. They colored while the other kids came in and got settled. Then at 8:15 the morning news came on and they watched that. After that the parapro took attendance and they were supposed to say "here" or something like that when their name was called and of course Reagan didn't (Riley didn't either along with a few others). At that point, I left; I knew my time was up and I wanted Reagan to really start enjoying her first day of "older school". I joined a few other parents in the cafeteria for a little while then headed home.

We of course were outside waiting on the school bus to arrive so we could be sure to capture her getting off the bus. Plus we're still trying to figure out the exact time when it will be showing up. But she had a great day and loved it! She said her favorite parts were coloring, playing outside and playing with Jaime. She loves her teacher and we think she is going to be great. She even called us tonight to check on Reagan and to see how she was doing and to tell us she did good at school on her first day! We missed her call; busy with bedtime. We're so proud of Reagan and just can't believe what a big girl she is now! Time just flies to fast!

I held up pretty good, I did get teary eyed at some points, like when the bus drove off this morning; but seeing how much she was loving it all and how well she was doing made it all better. It was a wonderful experience and a memory we will have forever!
